Nocturnal Flowers

"For each of us women, there is a dark place within where hidden and growing  our true spirit rises It is dark because it is ancient and it is deep"   Audrey Lorde

Nocturnal flowers show us that myriad shades of beauty can be found in the darkness, as they come into their own in the moon's glow.

This series take roos in several metaphors: something or someone which shines or thrives in difficult or unexpected circumstances / A personal awakening happening within the self and seldom visible to outsiders.

Here it is about women and even more so women of color having to code switch during daytime. Our public self is often the version we want others to see. Our private self reflects information that we keep hidden.

Our deep beauty can then be shown in the dark and secret of the night.
